My X5 doesn't like being washed

Bit of an odd one but does anyone else have strange things happen after their X5 is washed?

I wash my 40d myself, always, and use a pressure washer. Have to say now I've used pressure washers for years and am sensible, not pointing the jet straight on or too close to the car.
Anyway, yesterday arfter washing I put it in reverse and get a reverse camera fault come up on the Idrive screen, put it in drive and then back to reverse and all's well ?
So forward to this morning, start the car for work and am met with parking sensor fault, none seem to work when reversing off the drive and then I try to open the front windows and nothing, they won't budge !!
50 yards down the road and all back to normal, even the windows work OK.

Funny things, these BMW's  :P

My F15 is in at the dealership right now because the front/reverse/birdseye cameras intermittently fail...the guys at BMW are scratching their heads...I do use a pressure washer at home to clean the car!

Just got a call from the dealership...there is a known fault with the video module and they are currently updating the software which should fix it. I'm not sure if this is F15-specific, so may be worth getting BMW to have a quick look? Good luck whatever.

Cheers, it's in for a service on Saturday so will get them to check it out. I'm assuming it will record any faults even if they have cleared?

Well, the thing is they said there were no faults recorded that would point them in the direction of what was going on. That was the story on Monday night. They then called yesterday with the software fix. All of this together makes me dubious about it, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt...if it happens again then they will be keeping it until it is fixed/replaced!

I did ask about the pressure washer thing, and they said that it should be absolutely fine if you aren't doing anything daft. I still got them to check the camera housings which were fine (still sealed with no water ingress).

I'd be interested to see what they tell you, if you don't mind?

FYI it was John Clark in Aberdeen that did mine.

Cheers
Scott

Yeah, I'll mention it, sadly all main dealers employ 'fitters' now and not skilled mechanics with problem solving skills.
If they can't take a chunk off and replace it they're stumped or if the fault isn't given a step by step remedy in a workshop manual they've had it !!

Probably get an answer like you got, reading between the lines they haven't got a clue but want you to believe they are 'expert' BMW problem solvers  :P

LOL, the reverse dip N/S mirror played up today, not worked since 'the wash', moved it up and down with the switch and it then worked !?!

WTF is up with these motors?  :)
