The car I am getting is a 2004 3.0d without bluetooth. It has the Satnav and multi functoin steering wheel. Are all cars pre wired for this? Is it just a case of breakers Bluetooth module will plug in near the CD changer and away you go?! Or is that me being Naive!

Does it have the full 16:9 screen? If so, you should have bluetooth.
It may be pre-wired (not sure) but if not, don't waste time trying to go down the OEM route. Get a Parrot kit and fit that instead - much better for compatibility/quality and use.

Yes it has the dash sat nav with 16:9 screen and the steering wheel button just not listed on the HPI check options list. So thought for £75 I can ebay a module and if it is pre wired slot it in... Maybe a parrot the best option just like the idea of not adding the extra aftermarket kit in the car

You should have bluetooth then. Got the button for pairing in the armrest? Try
thislink to pair your phone, but delete all previously paired devices first.

easiest thing is to look in the rear left compartment.
if there is a silver box approx 2" x 4" by 8" set at an angle under the boot floor but top corner just poking up then you have it already.
If not look for a long multipin connector. i seem to remember it is some thing like 40pin and poss 3 rows.
if you have that then it is a plug and play.
Mine had neither but all wires were there however with different connectors on them.
a little bit of jiggery pokery had the bluetooth in with minimal wiring.
the only thing i dont have is the cradle and pair button. but pairing is simple with INPA so dont need either.
one little point.. the multipin connector was about £35 in Main BMW dealer, but £3.50 from an Audi Dealer just down the road!!
