Just thought if ask if any manual X5 owners have had the clutch replace on their cars.
Mine is slipping slightly if you accelerate hard in 3rd or above from 30 mph there's a slight slip so as I'm going to be towing a fair bit over the next few weeks I m gonna have the clutch replaced on Tuesday. I've been quoted by a bmw Indy garage £460 inc parts.
Does this sound reasonable?

would say so the last one i did on a 3 series was about £100 and was a pita, prop off, exhaust a million and one fastenings and brackets etc

Are these not the same as in the 5 series in that when the clutch is done the flywheel should be done at the same time?

That's what I thought shadrack doesn't look like a hard job just lots to remove.

It does have the DMF Jamie_E53 but as long as it's within tolerances it should be fine.

Well got the car back a few days ago had the clutch changed, gearbox and transfer box oils changed and de-tents replaced for the shift forks. So far done 300 miles and all good drives nicer and no slipping.

Total price for the full job was £565.
