Vortex breather renewed

Vortex breathers don't need to be renewed. It's the old bog roll type that block up and need to be serviced, once a vortex one is installed they don't block up, as there is no filter in them. Or so I thought

Well I did think that when I looked at the new breather but changed it anyway so no harm done lol , ive been reading to much on the net it's making me paranoid that something's gonna go wrong :'(

Well I did think that when I looked at the new breather but changed it anyway so no harm done lol , ive been reading to much on the net it's making me paranoid that something's gonna go wrong :'(

There is no filter medium per-ce in the vortex type.
It relies on the circulation of the air stream and the cyclone effect to separate the oil from the air ala Dyson therefore not blocking up
Having said that though, as there is oil in contact with it then it can gunge up and if the oil is not too great could restrict it.
Maybe needing a clean out occasionally wouldn't be a bad thing.
I was just thinking the photo of all the covers off reminds e soooo much of mine....

For the sake of £13 +vat and a hour of my own time I thought it was worth changing for piece of mind.

I'm with you on that if I'm removing it to clean it then might as well fit a new one, as long as the part is cheap [emoji106]
