Mercedes SLK 230 for sale
Posted: Sun Jul 13, 2014 6:26 pm
Reluctantly for sale, our Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor. We have owned it for over 10 years, were the second owners from new.
It is a 1999 model on a V- reg - currently a private plate which will be removed before sale.
It has been well looked after over the years and lives under a breathable car cover when not in use to protect it.
Spec and other info as follows-
1999 Mercedes (W170) with the 2.3 petrol engine, much better than the 2 litre. It has relatively low mileage -just on 69 000 miles- for a 15 year old car.
Black leather interior, no rips or tears, dark grey sheepskin bespoke covers on the seats. Dual Climate control, electric windows, cruise control, folding hard top roof. Aircon regassed only 6 weeks ago.
The mesh wind guard is present and in good condition. Carpet in good condition, includes OEM Merc overmats.
Taxed till Feb 2015 and MOT will be done before sale as it is due in August, so will be a full 12 months.
4 good Continental tyres with lots of tread, the OEM Merc staggered alloys on the car could do with a refurb, but I bought 4 brand new OEM Merc alloys to fit instead and these will be sold with the car for the new owner to enjoy.
V5, 2 working keyfobs, Owner Manuals and Brochure from original sale in 1999 (£30K) . The original fold-up spare wheel and inflator kit in the boot along with the tool kit in its cloth bag. Lots of old MOT's and invoices to be seen.
Serviced at my local indy only 2 months ago.
New battery last year.
Work done over the years includes a refurb of the wheel arches where these cars rust and a facelift spray at the same time, a new custom Stainless Steel Exhaust system with a very "throaty" roar, a new motor / pump to control roof and central locking, brand new K40 relay and Crank Position Sensor and of course brakes and usual servicing.
The car has had rear parking sensors professionally fitted, has a new Sony stereo with Bluetooth integrated and Aux input, also has the old Nokia car kit still installed which always worked brilliantly.
Years ago, when satnavs were "new", I had a Smartnav (Trafficmaster) installed -it cost about £1500 in those days! And included a tracking facility as well as the cars "own" mobile number. There is a Black Button to control this, but I also had the optional touchscreen installed - these systems can apparently still be used via a modest subscription.
The car is in overall excellent shape for a 15, nearly 16, year old car. However, there are a few stone chips and scuffs here and there commensurate with its age, and a repaired windscreen chip which was there when I bought the car in 2004.
I have uploaded a few pics and will put up more when I have a chance to take the top down again.
Please feel free to contact me for more details - this has been a really reliable, fun car to drive over the past 10 years, with modest fuel consumption - deserves to be used regularly.
Price £3000 ono (includes second set of brand new alloys)
