Buying winter wheels/tyres Help needed - which of these two would you buy?

At risk of someone bidding against me, as a newbie X5ist, which set would you go for?
I am not too worried about the style, although the 19s would probably look better after the current 20's.

The 19's however are for the E70 but having read a few posts on this wonderful site, it looks like the purchase of some rings will make it all work well. The 18's seem the sensible choice though I have wondered why no one has put a bid in and they have just been relisted - again.

Your help is appreciated  :)

I have the second set of wheels and tyres on mine (18").  I bought them from a guy who used them for half a season before upgrading to an E70.  They are OEM for the V8 versions (and therefore ok for the others too) and as a result I found my insurer had no issues with them and as I am still on a BMW warranty, BMW were ok with them too.

I think I paid about £900 for mine and the seller had paid £1,410 for them from BMW (discounted) a couple of months earlier so if they are in virtually new condition and go for close to the starting price they are a bit of a bargain in my opinion.

Another +1 for the 18's.  i run them on my 4.8is in winter. - as said, they are no issue with insurers, are BMW's own recommendation for the 4.8 and will, under equally awful winter conditions, perform better than 19's. plus the replacement tyres are a fair bit cheaper than 19's.

Thank you both, great advice and therefore will stick with the 18's. Then pray for snow  :cold:

Do also remember that the comments regarding insurers don't necessarily apply to your own insurer. Always best to advise that way they cant wriggle off the hook in the event of a claim on the basis that you didn't tell them
