Current car (Antara) has Bluetooth for iPhone, I can stream music from the iphone, and there is a USB socket to plug in the iPod or charge the iphone.

Cars I am looking at to replace it are 4.4 or 4.6is with year range 2001 - 2005.

There seems to be some mention of Bluetooth on these cars but reading the forum it seems that current iPhones might not connect and certainly won't steam music.

Also is there any way of playing music from an iPod through the cars in built system, is there a plug/socket/lead/converter that can be used.

I see on these models that there is a wide sat nav screen with tv, radio etc - is it possible to get the iPod library to display on this screen?

Right you can't stream with OEM setup but you can send the BM54 RCM unit (or possibly the BM24 unit for early models) to a guy mentioned on the forum. He can update the chips and add the A2DP option to give you streaming.

Or you can look at the simple aux lead to connect to the satnav unit.

Lastly there's the Intravee - have a search on here, it's been covered extensively.
