So after much deliberation and far too much time I've bought an E53 3.0d Sport on an 06. It's pretty much standard but a lovely example in my opinion. It's the first X I've owned but my 6th beemer. I'd read everything there was to read about the E53 but was surprised during the test drive. Does this thing really weigh in at over 2 tonnes! The drive is fantastic. Anyway the handover is on Monday and I'm already looking at ways to improve and modify it.  Let me know what your opinions are please.........

to the forum. Above or below the RFL bump threshold? Either way a great car and yeah at 2 tons this thing does well.

It's an August so the rfl is officially stupid!

I don't want to do anything stupid to it or win any drags,  just improve it anyway I can and obviously treat it the way it deserves.

The advice I've read has been great so looking forward to getting some pics of it on here and see what can be done.

Nice purchase and congrats on new ownership.

The changeover in rfl in 06 is crazy. I've always stayed under it for that reason lol.

I'm above the RFL but was looking for as new a car as possible so the circa. £500 car robbery will have to be paid. I grin every time I put my foot to the floor and the car takes off, would love to try a petrol to see  how they accelerate filled the tank on picking it up and told myself this tank will be all about enjoying the car not MPG, think the next tank and the ones after maybe the same too
