Not good! Good thing you spotted it.
So BMW are still not correctly wiring up the 13-pin electrics eh? That issue has been going on for three generations of X5 now and they still advertise the car as having the 13-pin system. My X6 had to be done last year and our Mini has exactly the same wiring issue.
Dealers ought to be flagging this to BMW to get the brochures changed, or the UK spec cars to be properly wired as it apparently only affects UK cars. Not sure I understand why only the UK as it's a Euro standard.
Oh and my wiring was a warranty job - free!

Do you have details of what needs to be done by the dealer? I've complained to mine re wiring omissions and they say they don't know what needs to be done and what parts they'd need! Had the same problem with my previous X3.
Do you have an invoice showing parts / part numbers used etc?

Just booked mine in to get it rewired under warranty (and to fix various other problems at the same time!)
Thanks again...
Mark.

I have the comfort front and rear seats, they're great except that the offside rear seat base has developed a rattle. I've also noticed that the drivers door puddle light has lost its plastic diffuser so the has to be replaced too.
The X5 is a great towbar indeed, effortless pace and stability - what more could you ask for?
We only get low 20's mpg towing though for best part of four tons and as long as an articulated lorry I can't complain I guess!

We struggle to find a suitable layout that we can all sleep in, we've got two teenage boys who are 6 feet tall so our choices are somewhat limited! We love German vans, had Tabberts some time ago and TEC's etc. though if we stick to the 8m limit there's still not much about with four six foot beds or a big double and two six foot+ singles.
