The sat nav hardly ever works, but sometimes it will? most of the time it says incorrect CD/DVD

Re: Sat Nav works when it feels like it
First and easiest check to do is to look at the disc in the Satnav computer to check that it is a genuine BMW disc. If it's a genuine (and undamaged) disc the fault is more likely hardware. If it's not a genuine OEM disc ask a mate with a genuine one to lend you one to try. Some 'third party' discs are known to be more troublesome depending on the quality of the recordable disc etc.
Good luck!

Thanks Peter, how can I tell if it's genuine bmw or not? sadly I don't know anybody with a disc

It will have a proper colour silk screened label not an inkjet or light scribe or stuck on one.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
