Service Required For 2002 X5 3.0I Auto

Post by chodecz » Sun May 25, 2014 9:24 pm

Hi guys

I've recently purchased a 2002 X5 3.0i auto. The service booked hasn't been stamped for approx 3yrs!

Can someone advise me as to what service I should carry out.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :-)

Oil, oil filter, air filter, brake fluid change, check the thickness of the brake linings themselves (should be at least 2-3mm all round - if less then they need changing), check the discs for ridges and excessive wear, pollen filter perhaps and have a good look around underneath to make sure all the steering & suspension parts and bushes are OK.

See if you can find the list for an Inspection 2 as that might be the best way as it is more thorough than an Inspection 1.  Does the book record what the last service type was, and what the mileage then to now is?

It might have been done by the Owner (as I now do with one of ours) who doesn't have a stamp.
