Wheel weight

Post by Smeeagain » Sun May 18, 2014 5:34 pm

Does anyone have a rough idea of the weight of an e53 19 inch alloy wheel with tyre?

I'm in the process of clearing my garage because we're moving & thought I'd struck gold when I found 5x 15" Sierra XR4i pepperpots I forgot I had. Took half an hour taking the tyre off one only to find it weighs 1.2kg on the bathroom scales and aluminium is 88p/kg at our local metal recycler!

Yes, 15" Ford pepperpot = 1.2kg = £1.06 scrap.  I couldn't believe it myself.
