Instrument cluster gear selection

Post by 3MSW » Fri May 09, 2014 7:11 pm

I've just bought an 04 3.0d Sport and being new to these things I'm not sure whether I should have a display in the bottom right of the instrument cluster showing what gear I'm in?

The instrument cluster LEDs light up to show PRND but the SM to the right and the 654321 below aren't lit.  Is this how it should be?  It looks like the instrument cluster has the LEDs for the missing information - they just aren't lit up?

It only shows when you select 'M'. Whilst in auto modes it does not tell you which gear you are actually in.

Ahhh, thank you.  Still much to learn, only picked it up two days ago.  Fantastic car!
