Dipping mirror

Post by pvr » Mon May 05, 2014 7:48 pm

Stopped working, the last few times I could kick it back into life by moving the mirror down a bit with the adjustment, but now just refuses to tilt on reverse.

Pain to get it looked at of course and just prey they can do it without damaging half the car.

Most likely full of cr@p!  My E53 one was replaced when about two years old and was beginning to do it again when I sold it 5 years later.  It seemed to stick part way and eventually stopped altogether.  I did try spraying a bit of silicone oil in the back but to no effect.  :(

Should be able to do it by un clipping the cover?

Question is - do I want to touch it if it is under warranty. If I can't fix it, then they might reject to fix it as I sprayed non approved stuff in there.
