I have a brand new Bosch battery to sell which I bought for my X5 E53.
When I went to install it I realised because I have an LPG tank in the boot I have to use a shallow battery and so had to buy a different brand.
The battery is the exact type suggested for the X5.
Was expensive new but I lost the receipt so couldn't return it to halfords.

How would the guarantee work without the receipt?

Unless Bosch date stamp or code it with a year of production (which they may do) and you return it within five years of that date, then I don't see how it would/could work as you wouldn't have proof of date of purchase which would be critical in a time related guarantee

Could be a production date code in the top right corner?

I read that as 111303  01:03.  Could be Nov/2013/3rd or Week 11/2013/3rd day?  If you bought it in 2011 then it might be 13th March?

OK it may not have been sold until a later date but it still gives a clue perhaps?  Just a thought

Yes it was bought in November/December so that would make sense.

To be honest I figured at the price offered it is not too important.

Any takers as I am heading over to Yorkshire in the morning.

Let me check.  I may be interested as I think mine is starting to go and I live in Sale.  I know I had problems when I bought the X5 but can't remember whether it was replaced and therefore in guarantee or not.  I just need to look through my paperwork.

I just checked and can't find any paperwork.  I shall have a look under the cover later.  Also, I bought one of these for the Merc about a week ago!
