Rear mat fixing............am I missing something.

Hi,

My front all weather mats have  a velcro patch on the back edge ( nearest the seat ) , one on each side. The front footwell has the oposing end of the velcro fixings on the floor ( black plastic circle that pushes into the carpet and you turn it 90 degrees to secure into place ). Thus they dont move.

The rear all weather mats have the same black velcro fixings on the back, but I have nothing on the floor. Im irritated by rear passengers not taking care, the mats slide all over the place and the carpet gets dirty. The thing is the rear carpet does not have the slots in it for the matt fixings to go into.

My question is what are you lot doing to solve this ( or am I the only one with ocd ).
Should I be cutting my carpet to fit the mat fixing disks ?
All seems a bit diy to me.
I need a solution though, I dont want t be scrubbing carpet every weekend.

Thanks,
Regards,
Nat.

I'm missing one from the drivers side front mat.

I thought of buying this

Then cutting the top off and putting some self adhesive Velcro on top of it.
But I'm open to ideas if anyone's got any better ones?

Hi,

These are the front ones. I guess I could put a small slit in my carpet and use these in the rear myself.

Always prefer to have the right ones.

Don't cut the original carpet! Use carpet tape and job done - very good at holding the mat in place. Did that with my drivers mat and it's been in place for years. Only have to Hoover round the edges where the dirt/stones get under. Rears usually get less dirty anywayz. Don't cut the carpet.  :'(
