New E53 3.0D Sport Owner - Couple of Q's

Post by SimonKhadija » Mon Apr 14, 2014 7:46 am

Hi,

Just a little introduction after my new purchase, with a couple of questions.

Its a 2005 (55)
3.0D Sport
Carbon Black
1 Owner from new
Bmw service history/BMW specialist
81,000 miles
Breather filter and air filter replaced at around 75,000.
All of the repair work was carried out at the same garage with all invoices present.

Picking her up next Saturday. Everything checks out fine after a good look round and test drive all seems good.

Any immediate things I should be checking/changing for this mileage?

:hi:

Check every electrical switch and function.

Make sure all the keys work - two ignition and one valet key come with the car - both locking and unlocking.

Run the 'Check Control' function which if memory serves is the right hand button on the instrument binnacle.

Check the tailgate upper 'soft closes' - it doesn't not need slamming just a gentle push.

If fitted then check Bluetooth (get the PIN!), TV, Nav, Audio, auto wipers, auto interior & exterior mirror dimming, reversing mirror function (mirror switch needs to be selected to the left for this), seats move properly, seat heaters work, a/c works at 16C and max temp - that makes sure you have enough gas etc, pano roof works correctly.

Hi, thanks for the welcome and the advice.

Everything checks out perfectly, all works except for PDC (see thread in Problems) but other than that very happy with the purchase.
