how do i check if the 318d has swirl flaps?  cant get a definative answer on on if it has them or not, seems some do, some dont ::)

Put the last 7 characters of your VIN into REALOEM and see if the intake manifold is shown as having 'flap control'.

If you can see under the manifold on the car you may be able to see the rods that move the flaps.

What production month and what engine as there are 2 choices?  The M47N2 does not have them, nor it appears does the N47 based on a July 2007 build I picked at random on Realoem.  Both show as having manifolds without flap control.  Different build dates may have a different result.

The E91 320d from the same period DOES have them however.
