Just fitted a pair of bmw front mudflaps to my white F15 m sport tonight, after 2 months I was getting sick of all the stones & grit that seem to find there way onto the front door steps & sills, also they will help for stopping some stone chips & tar, as usual bmw say they do not do mudflaps for m sport x5's but I got a set for 20" wheels from bmw direct on eBay & they fit perfectly, let me know if anyone wants the details.

The big problem with Parts Depts is they often don't update their BMW system in good time and owners find out quicker.  It's not unusual for me to have gone into my local dealership to find that REALOEM is more up to date than they are.

Others just don't know their way around the systems due to the rather illogical places some of these parts get listed under!

Straight from REALOEM - Mud Flaps.  Also see if your dealer will email you or print a copy of the EBA referred to.  It should be the fitting instructions.

Realoem's catalogue is 01/2014 so pretty up to date.  Next official release is either this month or June I think.

Bmw Part number is B82.16.2.302.409 they will normally ask for your chassis number & then tell you they don't do them for m sport, this is the same for my last 4 bmw's all of which I have bought se mudflaps for that fitted perfectly to each m sport, I do not understand bmw logic on this, I got mine from eBay item number 171289126004, £75.50 delivered

Reading the part number on Realoem, that part number appears to be for cars with MSport trim as the non MSport ends .....402 according to the parts list.  Perhaps the dealers are getting themselves in a pickle as even BMW Direct 'appear' to have got it wrong too.

Which might explain why yours fitted perfectly?

Richard, using the same logic after checking realoem would you say the rears that end in 431 should fit mine aswell?

If you follow that logic then yes.  But if you read it the way it's written then 408 should be the right one and that's only for 18" wheels.... ???  No wonder Parts are getting confused :(

Hi M13lky, i'M going to install the mudflap for my F15 M sport both front and rear, the dealer said about the front it's no problem, but the rear, they have to modified it. Do you have any ideas about that?

M13LKY, are they easy to fit, bearing in mind my unmitigated ineptitude with a spanner  :'(?

Cheers

Dr c, yes all parts come in the kit, clean the front arches, turn steering full lock one way, drill out the centre pins of the arch fixings you need to remove, undo a screw underneath the sill part, just peel back the start of the body fixing double sided tape but make sure the end sticks out so you can remove the rest when it's in place, offer up mudflap to arch, fit arch fixings then screw back in at sill, screw self taper into last fixing hole on inside & into plastic arch liner then remove tape by pulling it from top down to sill & at the same time push the moulded part against the wing to stick it in place, remember & let the wings dry once you have cleaned them but don't polish it first or the tape doesn't stick. Takes about an hour to do fronts but longer to do rears as you need to remove the wheels.

Thanks very much for this...unfortunately it looks like BMW direct have sold out. Will try to source elsewhere.
