Anybody have any suggestions I'm looking for an outdoor combination padlock

No idea on a combi lock, but Abus might do a decent one.  I use their 'Granit' range on a number of things and their motorcycle chain/lock systems are very very good - though expensive.

Depends upon how good you need it to be?

I've got an Abus one Richard that I use for my motorbike just need a combination one on this occasion it's got to be excellent it's to keep my 2nd bitch nice and safe in the yard (obviously SWMBO doesn't no I've said that)

Try this ABUS combi as an option?  It looks better than most, though not as secure as their 'heavy' range. 

Combi locks are too easy to crack........

Check out how to crack them on YouTube they can break them in 30 seconds you need to watch it to believe it !

I did watch those once and decided (optimistically) that may be there were a few steps missing....

Depends what you are protecting as shed or a garage or if outside use multiple levels of protection if it's a motorbike, it's about being a deterrent the more obstacles in the way the less likely they go for your bike and they go for an easier target.

I agree the abus are a good make, and iirc you can get disc locks as well difficult to get off without damaging wheel disk.

A few years ago I had a a 3 yr old honda fireblade, which had about 10 different bits to stop / deter a thief as standard it had an ignition and steering lock and chipped key.

Added to that it had Smart water (like alphadot system), an alarm immobiliser, other physical deterrents chains on the wheel secured to something etc and best of all a baby monitor to listen to any signs of a break ins, got that idea from MCN article

The more levels of security the harder it is for them to get past it all as it takes more time therefore more risk of detection when it's at home. Also consider a ground anchor and chain the bike to it, if possible make sure chain is not lying on the ground too easy to hit with a hammer it need to be suspended preferably.

Unfortunately its a different story if out and about but the same principle applies. Yes it cost a bit but probably no more that £500 on top on an alarm and if you bike I your pride an joy and say worth £10k then spending 10% of its value on protection is worth it.

Read a few reviews about the products and buy the best you can afford but don't just rely on only one method of protection.

I should have explained better it's to lock my gates which are 6ft high on my car park,when it's the quiet season I can let my dog have a bit more space to roam about she's a 2yr old rottweiller and soft as s**t so I don't want her to go walkies without me  .Put it this way if someone stole the X5 I'd be angry if someone took my dog  >:D
