BMW Insured Warranty

Got through to BMW Insured this morning to get a quote on my 2010 E70 40d, the best option for me seems to be Comprehensive cover at £60 per month.
I read on other forums that paying monthly is best as it never seems to increase each year, this option is with £250 excess for each claim and covers up to the purchase price of the car, electrical and mechanical.

She said that the cover is the same level as the AUC warranty, so not everything is covered but the majority of 'shockers' should be insured.

Anyone else on this warranty, is it worth it?

Yes, we have this warranty on my wifes X5 and now on my one too as it turned 3 in March, on her car we so far we have had a new boot lock, tailgate struts and a full navigation computer and all with no messing, they simply did the work without question but we don't have to pay any excess?

To have zero excess would cost me double the premium  :o

I've got that warranty and a £250 excess otherwise as said the policy cost is silly money.  It's still £90 a month on the X6 at 'Comprehensive' level though.

I think I'll go for it, takes away the worry of massive bills. I'm going to go for monthly as I read that they are less likely to increase premiums next year and just carry on taking the payments.

Good choice me thinks, we are very pleased with the policy on our 35d.

Just got a quote the other day for my 2011 X5 40d M Sport and was quoted £1,300 for comprehensive! Still deciding whether to keep it when the 3 year finance is up so didn't take it further but sounds like the £250 excess is the way forward if I do.

With what excess though?  That sounds like a 'no excess' quote?

It drops a lot if you take a partial hit yourself.

Yes, that was a no excess quote. If I decide to extend the finance for another couple of years with the comp cover with £250 excess the payments will be the same as they are now.

I suspect that's what I'll go with. Had a look around the BMW show room at the weekend and still not loving the F15 and if I go with one of the saloons or GT cars, many don't have the Aux heating which I'm reluctant to give up!

Does the BMW warranty cover the panoramic roof?

I believe it does cover the panoramic roof, hope so as mine has one  :)

It says it doesn't cover 'channels and guides' but the sunroof going wrong is down to a faulty or broken mechanism as far as I'm concerned.

Just signed up for the BMW Insured warranty, Comprehensive - £60.82 a month with £250 excess. Having looked at other 3rd party warranties and many annoying calls from the companies I decided the BMW Insured gave the best level of cover although not cheap.

Sense of relief that when the AUC warranty finishes I've still got similar cover to pay out for any issues.

Very surprised to see that BMW will also cover my "old" E53 X5??!!

Its only the driveline cover but it seems to be all the important bits! Engine, gearbox, diffs, transfer box etc..

£250 excess and £100 per month.

Is it mad that I dont think thats bad at all??

Mine only had around 13,000 miles when I took it out, that was back in April so wouldn't think the price is much different. There are three levels of cover from memory and different excess levels.
