Wing mirror motor needed, just the individual motor.

My passenger wing mirror has lost it's left/right movement, I have stripped it all down and found it's the individual motor.
Anyone know where I could get one?
All places sell the actuator unit complete.
I have found one very similar from maplins but I obviously don't know the specs of the std motor.
Or anyone got a broken mirror I can buy?

Can I ask how you got the mirror glass off. Mine feels like it will break if I pull any harder.
I have the same problem as you except I have no up/down movement.

If you pus the right hand side in as much as poss then pull the left side out gently you should be able to see behind the glass, there is a plastic circle with tabs on it holding it on, you need an angled pick to get behind and release the tabs, you need to release about 3 of them and the glass will left away.
Be very careful lol.
Mine had actually stopped moving up/down and I swapped the motors over so it did move up/down and not left/right. It's more important for me to see the kerb than adjust in/out. Once the left/right position is set you don't need to move it really.

Thanks for the reply.
I was actually planning on swapping my left up/down motor with my right up/down motor until I find a new motor like you (watching this thread with interest!!!) but what you say is correct - once its set left/right it doesn't really change unless someone else drives the car (and I don't let anyone drive my cars!)

Swapping the motors is easy
Pop the glass off, then the round backing plate, push a flat screwdriver into the square holes with arrows on them to release it off the moving arms
Then you need a T10 torq bit and there's 4 screws holding the motor on,
then remove the rubber cover, there's another 4 T10s under it (2 in the middle 2 by the arms)
Then lever the 2 1/2s of the case apart pulling the tabs out the way.
Now you should have the actuator unit apart and see the moving internals.
Pull out the red circuit board carefully (there 4 pins on the back) rest it over, then prise the black plastic bit off the motors, again there's 4 pins in the middle and 2 pins on each end that go into the motors so don't bend it.
Swap the motors then refit.
Should take you about 1/2hr.
This is who make our actuators

I've emailed them to see if I can buy a motor.
I've found plenty on the net that are the same size but none have the 2 pin power input like ours so might not work.
I will let you know how I get on.

Cheers. That's on my list today actually!
Hopefully the motor hunt proves fruitful

Thanks for the excellent walkthrough.
Following your guide I did the motor swap with ease today. I finally have dip reverse.
It's really the only function that I require to be electric as none of the other positions ever change in my car.

No probs, so yours and mine have exactly the same prob.
I was unhappy my car didn't have dip reverse, now it does.
No reply from magma yet.

I rarely use the dip but on the odd occasion that I need to it's invaluable
