Alloys corroding

Post by davl7 » Sat Mar 15, 2014 2:53 pm

Looking for a bit advice here, my 22 month old e70 with wonderful 21" alloys has started to look a tad drab.  The alloys are all showing signs of the lacquer bubbling off the metal.  This is despite throwing the spare 19"'s on for the winter to save them.  I'm taking it in to the dealer to get it assessed, has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the outcome.  The alloys I have we're quite pricey and tbh I'm gutted they have not lasted very long  :'(

Popped into the dealers this morning, explained the issue, and they looked astonished that this could happen (great acting on their behalf I believe), anyway they agreed to replace all 4 wheels after 10 seconds of pondering it, great service and a happy customer!

I wonder what they do with the old ones?  Repair them and send them to Spartanburg I guess?

I was wondering the same thing, I reckon they'll just go back to BMW, be refurbed and turn up on BMW's ebay page
