Tell insurance &/or DVLA if you have the car wrapped ?

Hi,
Just wondering if you have your car fully wrapped so its a completely different colour do you need to tell your insurance company ? Then I wondered if you also need to tell the DVLA - as though you haven't changed the colour of the car as such (its still the same colour underneath) you have changed the colour externally etc.
I probably think too much !
Cheers
Ro.

you don't have to tell dvla as its not permanent. The insurance issue I would say yes - if they don't care then great but do you really want to not to tell then only for them to say it's an undeclared mod? Safest approach is tell them everything.

Straight from a 'Wrappers' website and applies to full wraps.
"DVLA - It is now a legal requirement for you to inform the DVLA that your vehicle has undergone a colour change. You need to select from one of the following colours and submit your V5C document to the DVLA:- Beige, Blue, Maroon, Red, Bronze, Cream, Multi, Silver, Brown, Green, Orange, Turquoise, Black, Gold, Purple, White,Grey, Pink and Yellow."
Yet others say it doesn't matter, but your insurers need to know as it's technically a 'mod'. Best ask the DVLA in case the rules have just changed?

Yes tell DVLA and your insurance I know a guy who had car wrapped and had an accident he got his insurance voided and also was temporary arrested by the police as their records showed his reg number being on a different colour car so initially they thought car was stolen etc etc
Better safe than sorry tell them everything
