Hi All,
Just joined the forum a couple of days ago and info on here seems very helpful.
I have had BMW's for a while, with me starting with the E36 Coupe where I bought all upto the 328i SPORT, and then moved onto the E46 shape with my last car being an E46 M3
I have recently bought an X5 3.0D Sport and am absolutely loving it so far. It is a very different experience to the M3 and just feels effortless to drive.
I have a couple of questions:-
1) I have a folding mirrors button which when I press it brings the mirrors inwards but then they come out themselves in an instance. Do you have any idea how these folding mirrors are supposed to work? My E46 had the same button and it used to flip the mirrors upwards which was ideal when the car was parked.
2) I am due an Oil service. I usually get this done independently and supply quality parts to the garage myself. Can anyone recommend which oil would be the best for the X5 and also if there are any service parts prone to failure that are best to be replaced as preventative maintenance.
Thanks in advance for any advice. Im hoping I stick with the X5 for a long time to come.

Re: Newbie with Folding Mirrors question
Sanj thats brilliant thanks. I don't think ill attempt the folding mirrors fix until the weather gets better! Can anyone recommend a bmw specialist in london that would do the oil service at a reasonable price?
