That will do for now lol :)

Love it all.  So far had the car 3 weeks, done following:

New led rear number plate light units

Aero kit bought, and fitted.

Grills sprayed titanium silver

Mtec angel eye bulbs bought and fitted

Interior deep cleaned ( dash bit that peels re-glued ).

Wheel centres replaced with carbon black ones.

Security update done and every module on car fully updated, car was on machine for over 5 hours :)

Private plate still waiting to go through.

Looking good, nice one.  Must say I prefer that look to the M all one colour finish on the X5.

I have to admit, I think the same Don.  I purposely looked for a non m sport model.  Prefer the way the SE is broken up a bit with the black.  If anything it looks a bit stancier for being accentuated with the black.  Cannot stop looking at it! looks brilliant with silver bits added

Is that a genuine aero kit or after market?

Cool, looks good.

I'm about to buy an aero kit for mine but I'm going to paint all the plastic body colour on mine.
I think as mines black having black plastic looks cheap on it.

I've got the chrome/titanium kidney grilles but think I want black.
I don't know whether to paint them all black or just the chrome outers and as the bumper grilles are titanium I'm not sure what to do with them either.

I'm going down a very similar line to you, I'm getting all the updates done next week along with a lot of coding done (fold mirrors on lock, close windows on lock without having to hold the button and activated by comfort locking, angel eyes non dimming, plus whatever else I can), already got the private plate on, led number plate lights on, tv in motion done.

Also replacing all the bmw badges with black carbon ones.
Painting the wheels dark grey and will change the angel eye bulbs.

What's the security update?

Stops the car being pinched ( supposedly ) via window opening on forcing lock and obd key cloning basically.  Talk to dealer and they will do it whilst in there.  It's free by the way!! and as it needs all modules up to date it upgrades all modules to latest firmware etc before installing the security mod! so its worth doing as Im up to date now with everything :) all for free to boot :)

Regarding the painting of all black plastic.  I personally had a good look around on google on cars that have had it done and if honest I think it's a bad look.  You lose so much definition the car looks skinnier and something just doesn't look right if you understand?

I prefer the se over M sport purely for that reason, but Im guessing you have looked and prefer it so at the end of day its all about style and individuality.

I need to get my tv looked at, picture is not picking anything up, really annoying me as I've got rear dvd system aswell all original.

I love the titanium grills, the black grills on pre-facelift I think seem to give car a squarer flatter looking nose.  The titanium brings front end to life a bit for me.  I am a massive fan of black grills normally, put them on :

E53 sapphire black X5 sport
E60 carbon black 525d m sport
F20 alpine white 1 series M Sport ( with black wheels :)

So get a can of plastidip first to see if you like them black, it peels off if you think its hideous :)

Did you use a genuine aero kit or aftermarket? and how do they fix to the car?

Aftermarket I think, but made from abs Plastic. I bought kit off a guy on ebay who had bought it, had it sprayed, then never got round to fitting it .  I paid £150 for it which I think is an absolute dteal :)

And it comes with a fitting kit, some self tappers, quick bolts etc.  I didn't fit kit, but looking at the kit briefly, there are brackets which are mounted to the car, then the panels clip into the brackets etc.

You thinking of getting the kit ?
I have looked at them before on ebay, I don't think the rear would work though if we ever use our detachable tow bar.

My kit has a removable centre section panel at rear exactly for using a detachable towbar
Just after my last post I had a look at the kits on ebay and they are the same with the tow bar panel that can get removed.
