2014 model X6-but no bluetooth

Ok guys so I take delivery last Friday of a 2014 model X6, complete with telephone button and controls on the steering wheel only to find out that the factory haven't installed bluetooth, despite the fact that EVERY dealer thinks a 2014 X6 has bluetooth as standard.

BMW after sales inform that they can not retro fit it, is that correct?

If it is what are your recommendations for resolving the problem ie after sales kit, not my preference, but I may have no alternative.

Btw I did have professional sat nav fitted at source and it did come with that!

I am not after a solution as to BMW's failings, that is in hand, I am just trying to resolve the immediate problem.

Many thanks.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bl@@dy h3ll I'd be hopping mad about that too.

No retrofit kit is as yet available for the latest X6.  My Dealer also messed up and I'm missing partial functionality on the cradle.  The salesperson simply thought that one thing meant you got it all and I don't have smartphone integration.

Have you got option SA633 shown on your build sheet at all?

It's not a straightforward add either as you need a Combox controller, phone charging system, cradle, aerial in the shark fin, USB hub and all the wiring.

A Parrot kit is probably your best option if BMW won't build you another car with the right bits.

I had the same problem, dealer told me bluetooth was standard so I never added the media pack.
But luckily I noticed this was not the case. Contacted Bmw Aberdeen and told them that bluetooth was not standard. He reassured me that it did. Had to push to get the salesmen to double check and his answer was, yes your right we learn something everyday I would have been fuming if it came without.

my VW Caddy van came with Bluetooth phone , and it streams bluetooth audio to my radio from my phone. This came as standard.
I can't believe bluetooth is classed as an optional extra, everybody who drives owns a phone.
Even a cheap £20 phone has bluetooth capabilities, how much must it cost car manufactures to fit it to your new car during production .

Buy a Seat Leon.....get free LED lights and Bluetooth.  Buy a BMW and the lights are at least £1,000 and the Bluetooth more again.

Everything is extra on BMWs........and it's high time a lot more was free, but then BMW had a record year so they'll shrug and keep doing what they do.. >:(

The number of current BMW drivers I see using mobiles hand held is shocking, but we know why.

When I bought my 2012 Toaureg it had no Bluetooth, although everything was there on the wheels for it including the microphone.

It transpired that the buetooth was fully fitted but not switched on, a friendly mechanic at VW plugged his box in and opened up the service.

An hour later I had factory Bluetooth. I wonder if this could be the case with your car, and the dealer needs to get an engineer to investigate the hidden menus.

(if they can be bothered)

I hope it is just a simple matter of coding the car for you..

Admittedly my Smart Brabus Fortwo didn't have bluetooth as it is only a 53 plate but bought a JVC system for £49.99 and that has Bluetooth and fitted it to my car easily.

Logically it can't cost that much to fit it to new cars so why is it so an option and so expensive on Bmw's?
