Anyone know anywhere in the north east that will hire me a 7.5t luton or 20ft+standard body 7.5t truck for 2 days

Im not sure whether digital tachos will have put paid to us mortals hiring anything bigger than a 3.5t now

Have you tried "7.5T truck hire Sunderland" or similar in Goggle - only used Sunderland as a possible in the NE. Our neighbour had one to move him and his kids back north a couple of weekends back.

i have a digi tacho card and full driver cpc, used to be full time artic driver before i set up my electrical business
although this issue did cross my mind with everything 06- been digi tacho and most rental fleets been up to date, wonder how they get around this?

just googled it, it appears that hiring a 3.5-7.5t vehicle for non profit or reward i.e a house move is tacho exempt, so no need to use it, but if the truck is been used as part of your/ your employers business for hire or reward a tacho is required and you would need a digi card (only £20), although once you have a digicard you have to carry it whenever driving a tacho'd vehicle even if said vehicle is on an analogue tacho
