Hi,
My drivers side bolster had colapsed a little, not much really i have seen much worse.
Has anybody tried spraying expanding foam through a smalll hole just to fill the bolster?
I amin North Wales and can not get hold of a upholsterer which could redo it for me!
Or does anyone have any other ideas??
Many thanks,
Roy

Expanding foam and bolsters????....
Re: Expanding foam and bolsters????....
Expanding foam, can be real sticky $h1t, and once set is quite firm so dont sound like a good idea.

Bad idea I think mate... expanding foam is messy stuff and full of chemicals and adhesives which could eat the foam in the seat or cause other damage. Plus, It wouldn't keep its shape for very long either.
You would be better locating a good upholsterer and once it has deteriorated a little more, get them to restore it but using memory foam... I have seen this done and the shape returns every time!

I wouldn't use expanding foam. As others have said it's very very messy and sets like concrete.

Re: Expanding foam and bolsters????....
took mine to an upholsterer who does car interiors.
Removed the seat, re did the bolster, and put a little extra foam on seat - made a massive improvement to comfort - not at all bad for 60 quid!
I phoned local BMW garage to price the foam for the seat for for the e53 - 143 pounds just for the seat foam base......... then plus fitting etc etc

Re: Expanding foam and bolsters????....
Anybody know if the bolster interior foam can be bought seperately? I sold a set of car seats to a X5drivers forum member (cabn't remember name) who seemed to have a ccess but I think he was in the trade.

Peter - the seat base foam can be bought from any BMW dealer - quoted me £143 for the drivers foam (non sport seat)
