Delete all the previous phone numbers

So I've managed to pair up my iPhone on my 2004 x5 to the sat nav system/screen but I can't for the life of me delete any of the old numbers stored on it and I keep toning 1 of the previous owners by mistake and I think she's getting a bit cheesed off now lol. So can they be deleted somehow?

Is there an option to delete under the phone book option?

not that I can find!? I put my phone into airplane mode so I could have a good play around without actually calling anyone, but couldn't delete anything so just called some of my numbers to get rid of all the other previous owners numbers.
