Hi guys,

I am looking to get a remap done from Jason as i have read nothing but positive things about his work.

I have had some bad experience though with my E60 520d with which i had to have the dpf removed after remap caused it to become clogged and then the catalytic converter became clogged and i had to cut that out as well.

so i just wanted to know if a remap on a 3.0d facelift will cause any negative affects on the cat?

E53? No DPF for starters.

Had mine remapped years ago, at a meet and still no issues.

I'd suggest if the remap caused the DPF and cat to clog then it was a poor remap.

There are a number of things that can cause the Dpf to block up when parts go wrong on a car

I've have seen and fixed many a bad remap where the person who makes the tuned file has just added so much more fuel to the tables which has caused excess shoot

Remember you get what you pay for
In life
if you get a remap for £150 it's going to be of a poor quality
Seen so many as well as Dyno testing them

Remaps have come along way now.

Back in the earlier days before twin turbo diesels were about and the single turbo diesel engines were attached to GM transmissions, I always saw error codes to transmission slips for the TCC.

Eventually the clutch material would make its way through the transmission and destroy it completely.

We always priced up a brand new transmission and then passed the information of rebuilders who would be able to do it for a fraction of the price.

Now ZF transmissions are attached to the diesels and are capable of handling alot more torque. Remappers have also cottoned onto controlling the torque output.

I always recommend E-Maps for remapping, his is quite switched on intelligence wise.
