Welcome and congrats on the purchase.

Sure there is a how to in the E53 section on re-syncing the keys as a first port of call.

Welcome to the forum......nice looking X.

If yours is anything like my mates in MK then keep an eye on tyre wear......they're heavy beasts that actually handle quite well and all those roundabouts seem to destroy tyres  ;)

Sure youll be happy though  :)

Welcome aboard.

As said above MK is a tyre killer as well as a fuel consumption destroyer!  I always seem to lose 2-3mpg whenever we go there for shopping & Costco.... :(

:hi:

How-To is there for the keys to be sync'd. Read as much as you can on the forum to get the best out of the car. You'll see tips to preventative maintenance too. Your only bugbear will be the fuel economy in this one. Hence why loads have the diesels...

Did the key work before or is it the spare? Could be a flat battery - I had that and with Jason's help, split the key open and installed new innards.

I smell Dealer BS!  All keys at once....doubtful  :shit:

What state is your car battery in?  My car came back from a service once including investigation of a flat battery.  The keys suddenly stopped working and I had to re-synch using the second of the procedures (key in ignition and switched on and off 5 times rapidly) on this site.  Which one have you tried?
