Not really a problem per say, more of an oversight on my part when buying the x5. Firstly, I’m still well and truly in my honeymoon period with the car and love it to bits, so my question is merely one of cosmetics. The Nav screen looked a bit tatty when I was viewing the car and I put this down to not being cleaned correctly. After further investigation it’s suffering from the anti-glare coating being marked, which when the system and car is off looks like a dogs eaten it’s breakfast off it. Not a great look for a near mint interior.
I’ve googled various topics on other forums about people far braver than me pulling dash fascia’s off, removing the unit and anti glare coat and applying the new one. Seeing as I’m lazy and have no time nor inclination to do this, is this something the BMW dealer can do or a specialist job? How much money do I have to expect to throw at this problem in order to make it go away? Any advice?

Re: Nav screen
Just spoke to my local BMW dealer. Nothing that they can do and it was probably my fault?!
Apart from an ebay DIY special anyone know of any professional repair outfit?

Re: Nav screen
If you are VERY careful, you could try re spraying the screen with a fine layer of matte lacquer (water based if poss and only a small amount 'misted' over the screen). Another choice might be to use something like a tablet screen protector to re-cover the display. They come in matte anti-glare/anti-reflective options and don't get a super adhesive version! Can be a pain to fit, but less fraught than spraying as you need to check the solvent (for non-water based) does not damage the screen.
