Hi.
Ive got the xenon headlights fitted to my car.
Its a 08 x5 35d.
Does anybody know the rating of the bulbs. Ie wattage. And more importantly the colour temp of the OEM bulbs.
Mine seem a tad yellowish, and was thinking of getting some whiter versions, if poss....
And if you've done this, where did you get your bulbs from...

Standard 35W with a colour temp around 4,300 - 4,600 Kelvin.

I think the bulb is a D1S and you can simply change them for a high temp 35W bulb.

I'm looking at replacing mine with Osram Xenarc Nightbreaker 35W units.  This is a direct replacement.  Osram also do a 'cool blue' version with a 5,000K temp.  Philips are another good source.  After that you are into the cheaper supplier market and all the fun that entails - though not in all cases.

If yours are going yellow then it may indicate they are aging as HIDs go 'yellow' as they get older and approach the end of their life (around 3,000 hours).

Have a look at the Osram 66144 lamps, they're considered to be the best ones on the market.

This is a good site: http://www.lightwerkz.net/

I'm going to get a set of the above from my E70 when it comes back from the shop.

You can get those bulbs from various places like Powerbulbs, Amazon, HIDS4U, HIDS Direct.  Around £85 per bulb.

I'm glad you said that, I thought they were tricky to get.
Worth making sure they're genuine though as plenty of counterfeits around
