Hi Folks,
Before I make a mistake, I thought I would ask here. I have bought some extra 'spare wheels' which I want to swap with the standard wheels on my 3.0d Sport.
Part 1
So I have a set of 4 x 17" wheels (including my existing spare) all with Michelin MVX4 plus M+S (all weather) tyres.
Just want to check there is no good reason not to run the car on these wheels and tyres. As far as I recall they were the standard on the 2003 3.0d SE. My query relates to use with Sport suspension.
I will not be thrashing the car and am hoping to get better winter use from these than the standard. Also a couple of my tyres on the snowflake 19" wheels need replacing and they cost an arm and a leg.
Part 2
I am wondering whether to get a fifth spare wheel or whether to get an emergency tyre repair kit instead. Any views on this?
Happy New Year
Steve

There's no issue with running the 17's on your X. It's the standard winter option size anyway.
As for issues with the sport suspension, there will be none.
I'm not running a spare due to the LPG tank so either option is viable.

Thanks Raj!
I now need to convince my better half that storing a load of wheels in the garage is a necessary and important use of space!!!
All the best for 2014.
