No they dont wire up the pin for the fridge,as I found out ,you could try asking them to wire it up or youll buy elsewhere.
My reply was I paid to have the tow bar and equipment factory fitted. The electrical plug has 13 pins, and I want all 13 pins wired, thats what I paid for, that didnt seem to soften their stance, what changed their minds was I would not buy another BMW again, that seemed to change their minds, and they wired the plug for me.best of luck keep us posted

If they fit the tow bar and electrics and some of the circuits are not connected then you can go back to them and say it is not to ISO 11446 and you want it correcting FOC.

I detailed the spec's here... http://caravanchronicles.com/guides/iso ... ler-connec...

It seems common for BMW, Audi & VW not to connect all the circuits on OEM electrics.

Mine are being done free on the X6 as I (and others) have pointed out that there is nothing in the sales brochure about the wiring being incomplete.  13-pin electrics means to me that ALL pins required (12 in all) should be wired as per the spec above.

BMW don't wire any model up fully even though they come with 13-pin electrics.  Without warning buyers, they have to accept it's their error and fix it for free.  I have heard all sorts of reasons including the fact that only the UK tends to use the full suite including 12V constant and Fridge circuits.  I don't believe it!

You should demand that the wiring is fully fitted and the Dealer should not be charging at all.  I did point out to the supplying Dealer that you don't buy a full spec system only to find the manufacturer fails to deliver and doesn't tell you!  Our Mini is the same but there is no kit for that as BMW/Mini say it's unlikely you would tow a caravan with a Countryman.

It may be time for action against the manufacturers under some form of Trades Description rules.  They know they're doing it, and hope no one notices!!

Not all after market kits turn up fully populated either...

My Witter with full electrics needed my intervention on the wiring front also..

Don't hold your breath!  They usually develop Teflon shoulders and offload it to a dealer.. >:(

Aftermarket may be the better option.  I used a local guy recommended by the dealer (well the service manager who tells me straight). The aftermarket fitter used a better than OEM wiring loom and came fully connected.  Cost was £600-650, I can't remember the exact figure. Is yours a folding version?

Hi yes its the electrical folding version might try a local guy i have used before and see what they quote

The only thing is does the software need updated to show a caravan connected for the stability control to work

In many case no update is required.  There is little info on the F15 version at present, but neither the E53, E70 nor E71 needed coding with the kits from people such as PF Jones.

Just to clarify, there were two options open to me on the aftermarket.  Option one used a relay system and didn't fully connect to the existing wiring and I was quoted £350ish for this option.  Option two has full integration with the factory wiring and all features such a stability control and disarming of the rear sensors when hooked up, works perfectly.  Nearly twice the price, but well worth it for piece of mind.
