X5M - 'must have' options?

Post by speedy_un » Sat Dec 28, 2013 1:55 pm

Going to look at this one...

http://www.approved.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmw ... e_ASC|list

http://www.bowkermotorgroup.co.uk/bmw/u ... 3/bmw-x5m/

Seems to have good options, and price is reasonable (£90k new?), but are there any 'must have items' that are missing.

That looks so plain and like an 3.0d M sport with quad pipes but I have to say that it is tempting at that price !

Must have options, shares in Shell/BP!

I like the subtlety of black - I don't want to draw attention, so looking like a 3.0d is just fine!
Happy with the fuel consumption, as it's replacing a 911 and an ML with a drink problem.
Those other two X5M's have limited options, particularly compared to the black car.
Deposit has been put down, subject to inspection - just have to satisfy myself that it's up to standard.
Anything to look for with the X5M - other than the usual (rear wheelarches, tyres/brakes etc)?

Full list of options as follows (I don't think it shows them all on the AUC website):
475  Black Sapphire Metallic
LKSW  Black Extended Merino Leather
Service inclusive from 28/08/2010 to 27/08/2015
2NU  M Double-Spoke Style 300M 10/11Jx20
3AH  Reversing Assist camera with Top View
316  Bootlid operation. powered
4ML  Piano Black - BMW Ind.
402  Panoramic glass sunroof
488  Lumbar support. driver and front pass
493  Extended storage
496  Seat heating. rear
5AC  High-beam Assistant
6FF  DVD system. rear
6FL  USB audio interface
6NF  Telephone USB audio interface
601  TV function
612  BMW Assist
616  BMW Assist online portal
633  Enhanced Bluetooth telephone function
654  DAB digital radio
752  BMW Individual audio system
761  Sun protection glass

Although I didn't get a x5m (30d MY11), after many months of playing with options in various test drives etc the must have one for me is comfort seats.  Again, may be irrelevant in an x5m, but out of all the options this one is the one I'm most happy with (3 weeks into my x5 honeymoon).

I think the original ad made mention to lumbar supports so could be sports seats?

Anyway.  What a car and enjoy!

I bought it, and picked it up on Saturday!
Very happy with the deal - some cosmetic items to be attended to (paint and interior trim repair).
Wheel refurb could have been better, but I'm really being picky.
Bowker were good to deal with.

The only issue, and it's not a big one, is that it doesn't do Bluetooth streaming (despite the description)!
X5 M's have the new iDrive (CIC?), but streaming didn't appear until Oct 2010.
Bugger.
Any help with this would be appreciated (iphone 5 user).

Still, must grumble - £55k depreciation from the £90k OTR price after 3 years and 30k miles means that it's more affordable and hopefully less painful during my ownership!

Performance is awesome, ride very civilised and looks subtle enough to pass unnoticed.

Very happy to be back in an X5.

Congrats.

I've always liked the subtlety of ///M cars. The X5M does appeal and maybe consider one at a later date and lower price lol.

Problem I have at the mo is my E53 is very individual and pretty much has every OE option now lol, so it would be a real hard find to get an E70 with the sort of spec if want.

Might have to buy another M5 lol.
