I have 2005 3.0d exclusive sport with everything, the previous owner ticked all the option boxes apart the remote heating. Carbon black, black ash, panoramatic sunroof, rain sens. wipers, dimming folding mirrors, electric seats and wheel, Satnav, comms. automatic. 19in wheels. I am slowly finding out what I acually have. 88k miles on the clock. I have it 5 weeks, done 1500 miles, and I still wear an ear to ear smile. Love the beast. I found your forum when I have heard about the heater and saw the lump under the bonnet. So I ordered remote and installed it yesterday with LED in the grille. It seems to go throughout the motions, the fan noise will raise, the pump is clicking, water hose gets hot. So this morning I dutifully switched it on 20 minutes before departure and cabin was cool. The heater was going, the cabin fan was going. What I think the water is not circulating from the heater? Where do I find the water pump? OK, I hope that I will get to the bottom of this eventually.
More important, I have to say I have suffered, or rather enjoyed today, the snow and ice in Kent. The xdrive is absolutely fabulous, BFM. Changing lanes across 6in snow drift with tracks was unbelievable. Cars were struggling, sliding sideways, or abandoned, I just zoomed past. I had before Audi quattro and Mitsubishi 4x4, this is really something else. Well, I hope to see you more and bother you with my niggling problems and hopefully I will be able to contribute as well.
Wishing you all clear roads and blue skies
