The Black Monster

Hi there everyone
So I finally tracked down an X5 that looked good value for money and took the plunge! It's a 53 plate 4.6iS in Sapphire Black with black leather comfort seats.  It was well specced from new, with heater rear seats, full comms pack, factory fitted removable towbar and the BMW drop down screen rear 10 disc DVD and PlayStation 1.
It's got 104k on the clock, but runs very well.
There's a few little jobs to do, but I've started on them already, new fuel cap (the seal was cracked and perished), new front undertray (missing) and the next thing I've got to source is the naps for the running boards.  Looks like someone removed them to clean the boards and forgot to refit them!
I've had a string of BMWs over the years, but this is my first X5, so I can do most work myself, but will be using the forum for tips and advice.
Cheers, DaveImage

Welcome to the site.

Your iS looks good Dave.

The BMW part number for the naps is 51717053; I need two for mine.  Last time i looked online they were something like $0.78 each...

Thanks for all the welcome messages, nothing better than a friendly and helpful forum  :)

On the Naps, I asked my local dealer, and they are £1.68 each, I read somewhere there are 96 of them across the two sidesteps, so I'd buy 100, but £168 seems a lot of dosh for some bits of rubber!

You can have my X6 side steps complete for a ton if you collect from Manchester?!
About 200 miles on them from a brand new car just driven to London to have perf kit fitted.
