2002 3.0 Sport. Heavyish steering normal?

As above. The steering seems to be a tad on the heavy side. It has standard sport alloys and pressures are good. Is this normal?

Thanks

It's a two tonne vehicle so the steering is heavier than a car, especially at lower speeds.  It should lighten up as the speed increases but it will never be 'light'.

Is you fluid level OK?  No pipe leaks?

My steering rack had a little leak so I put a bottle of leak stop in it and it stopped the leak and made the steering alot lighter, even the wife noticed it!

I haven't really inspected it yet but I will be checking the fluid today. I will also check for any leaks.

Thanks for your help

i think its just the way bmw likes it. in fact everything is heavish.  even a previous beamer i had was the same. in comparison a much more heavier land cruiser i've had could be turned lock to lock with car almost stationary with one finger.
