Hi
After driving my wife's e53 x5 I rather fancy one for my self....this is just a feeler, I'm moving from central london into the sticks so I will be looking for a 4x4....and was wondering if anyone on here fancies swapping their e53 x5 for an e39 touring? unlikely but thought I would check.....My current car is a lovely petrol mica 2002 BMW 530I Individual M sport Touring with 82 000 miles on the clock. It's a genuine individual, as per documentation I have and the engine plaque in the engine bay. It has 18" split rim staggered genuine BMW alloys (18x8, 18x9) - a rare option. Grey leather interior. Sat Nav with 2013/14 maps. heated seats. air con. it has the old motorola phone set up which all works (I use a PAYG orange sim card in it - it all works perfectly - it takes and receives calls and you can read text messages received etc.). Body work is in excellent condition. no dents or dings etc. wheels are unmarked. tyres have 5mm tread all round (continental sport contacts). I only bought this about 6 months ago and on purchase I had all the fluids changed (engine oil, brake fluids, coolant), spark plugs filters (pollen, fuel etc.) and also fitted a new radiator, thermostat purely as preventative maintenance as I planned on keeping it a while. It also has fresh pads and new front discs. It drives very smoothly and has a full BMW service history bar the last service which was done by a friend of mine who is a BMW senior technician so the car is mechanically A1.
This is just a feeler, I'm toying with getting snow tyres as an alternative but I wondering if i'll need more ground clearance as well hence thinking about a 4x4. I'll get pics up later. It's a rare beast so hard to put a price on it really.
The first owner worked at BMW as did the second owner (finance director) whom I bought it from in southend on sea.
I will get some pics up later if the weather allows.
Depending on the age, mileage and condition of your car it is more likely that I will need to offer cash + my car....but obviously we would need to compare cars....
