Just after some advice, have previoulsy owned an E70 x5 3.0d se and am thinking about getting a m sport either 3.0d or 3.0sd. However, I am concerned about how much worse the fuel economy will be with the twin turbo and if the extra performance is worth it? Also, does the 20" wheels adversely effect the ride quality over the se?
Any comments would be welcome.
Thanks

3.0d or sd?
Re: 3.0d or sd?
First of all, welcome.
I test drove the 3.0d, and having an E53 3.0, the E70 was feeling very, very sluggish with the 3.0 so I would not go for that engine.
Someone else can clarify better, but wasn't the road tax higher on the earlier 3.0d versus the 3.0sd?

Re: 3.0d or sd?
Had the 3.0d SE for 5 months on 19"s, now have the 3.0sD on 20"s, no real noticeable difference in the ride but the power difference is significant. MPG wise, on paper the twin turbo is supposed to be better.
