Hi all, relatively new E70 owner. I got my 2010 x35d M Sport 3 months ago, it's in individual Ruby Black and black piped Champagne Merino Leather, and also has the following options:

Bootlid operation. powered
Dark Bamboo wood interior trim
Ext. mirrors - folding. auto dimming
High-beam Assistant
Leather interior
Loudspeaker system - BMW Advanced
M V Spoke Style 227 M 10/11Jx20
Media package
Metallic paint
Reversing Assist camera with Top View
Seat heating. front
Sun protection glass
USB audio interface
Xenon Headlights

The option I miss is DAB radio, shame the car hasn't got it.

A few pictures below, it is a beauty. I love the paint and the interior is very light, but with black carpets - spot on.  Got it from Lloyd BMW Carlisle, just 18200 miles on it and complete with a service pack until 2015.

It's really my wife's  car, she loves it. The only pain is keeping the champagne leather clean! (Any tips gratefully received). I have had a string of BMWs and this replaced a 640d M Sport that I had on a personal lease.

Welcome

Nice car. We had grey leather on our last BMW and it was kept clean by using baby wipes (Johnson and Johnson to precise).

Welcome, and a great colour too.  It suits the E70 and looks fantastic in bright light.

Stunning colour combination, :P my wife has a thing for piped seats but I've been able to put her off thus far by pointing to how much the bmw Individual options cost and the fact they apparently delay build by 2 months. I've seen a 6 series convertible in that colour and trim at BMW Park Lane ,it looked fantastic . Looked like a deep Rioja shade in sunlight.

I use a megniers leather cleaner to maintain Oyster nappa , seems to work ok , new blue jeans and heavy rain are the combo to watch out for.  :(

Thanks for the welcome.

Ruby black is great when it is clean and in the sunlight, it has a purpleish sparkle hue to it. The leather cleaner I use is gliptone but I feel it needs a gentle abrasion on the bolsters to get it really clean.

is DAB radio a retrofit possibility?

I thought it should be purplish but doesn't look it in pics.

This picture shows the colour better, lifted from another forum and it's an old shape 6er.

Nice car, loving the colour combination...  Ruby Black is rare indeed!  As for keeping the seats clean, had a similar colour combination on an E90 and it wasn't too bad.  Damp cloth regularly, that and a bit of Zymol leather cleaner which is readily sold in Halfrauds.  Ironically I've found it to be the best, nice Matt finish, good smell and not too aggressive.

Worst problem too look out for is the discolouration of the drivers seat, lower back area.  It's inevitable on the lighter colours I'm afraid - caused by belts!  A killer, and it's often not dirt but actually wearing through the colour on the leather, had two seat covers replaced under warranty and then gave up.  It might be better with the nappa leather, mine was dakota.

Regarding the seats rather more drivers seat I no there not great looking but a cover maybe tailored made would definitely prolong wear and tear.
