Cant wait!

Post by andym3 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 9:31 pm

If all goes well I should be the proud owner of a X5 again!  :))
My 1st X5 was a 4.4 V8 sport, the gearbox went costing me £1600 to get rebuilt!  :'(
My 2nd X5 was a very nice 3.0D auto Black, with black leather etc, but my paranoia from my 1st X5 made me sell it as I didn't want another auto-box repair bill.
After lots of hunting & if all goes well as of Wednesday I should have a X5 3.0D manual gearbox (very rare!)  :)  Gunmetal grey with cream leather & this one comes with the running boards which I didn't have on my previous 2!  8)
Pic's will follow if the X5 is as nice as the owner says it is! So watch this space.

Sounds good.  Manual is what I wanted too but the Dealer demanded a massive deposit and told me I'd need a new clutch every year.......so I went auto (and it broke at 38k miles).

Sounds like a decent car.... :)

There's probably a reason why they never made many manual X5's. I think that engine and the X5 itself suits an auto box, but if you test drive it and are happy that's your choice. I like my autos, everything I drive with a manual reminds me of my works van.
Hope you get what you want, whatever gearbox it has :)

Well I didn't get that X5 in the end! There was me stressing about getting a manual & I bought another X5 3.0d auto today!  :))
Very pleased with it though! Very well looked after! I've never had a car with so much history & receipts!

I'm going to get it booked in at the automatic gearbox specialists to have the gearbox fully serviced anyway!  8)

I leave my tow hitch on permanently so any idiot shunting me from behind gets the full impact of the hitch through their radiator and hopefully spares the X too much damage!    Wishing you well with the new one,!
