That is the scary thing. I've done loads of track work and some of the standards are really worrying and then you see the accidents.....

Astons aren't quick enough to crash

I don't want to sound like James May, but I agree that some car manufacturers are more concerned with designing cars that go around the Nurburgring in so many seconds, have ruined certain cars ride quality, some of us don't want our spines put out of place going to the local shop, with sport suspension !
We replaced the wife's Audi A4 convertible yesterday for a 2.0 TT TDI , lovely looking sports car, but I wouldn't want to travel 250 miles a day in it, not without spine surgery.
But I turned 50 this year so maybe that's the problem!

Audi don't know what suspension is, they've always been the same as soon as you deviate from the SE models they don't ride.  It's their achilles heal like BMW's is the RFT tyres.

As for the crashes, mixed thoughts watching that video a couple of the motorcycles just seemed to let go for no apparent reason?!  I've been once, don't know the circuit well, is there a surface change?  There is also plenty of inexperience, a lot of the issues are down to carrying too much speed into the corner and an ever so slight lift of the throttle, easily done.

As for the chap in torrential rain in the Elise  Why even go out in those conditions...  :-\  Personally I don't see the fascination with the place, perhaps because after one lap in a Caterham I'm exhausted!  I don't want to get on a circuit with so many inexperienced drivers and equally scarily capable drivers.  There are plenty of club days on UK circuits that are just as much fun without the 2 day drive!

Agree on ride although the RS6 on 21s at the weekend really wasn't that bad, even the old man said so so it must be ok!

Agree on ring. I will never go. I know of a couple of people that are currently attempted to be being sued for causing big accidents requiring air ambulances and the works for dropping oil !

I have seen your karting skills. You would be the first person to be sued for causing an M25 style traffic jam behind them  :))
