VR working (or not)

Post by nujon » Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:21 pm

Anyone got VR working on a late Facelift E53 (2005/6) with the factory-fitted Motorola Assist module. If not, anyone successfully swapped this module for a ULF 'mit SES' ?

I'd be interested in knowing the same. My TCU failed and I got a used one from a car that had VR according to the VIN decoder but it still doesn't function in my car.

What I do know is when I sold an old ULF from my E46 M3 retrofit, I forgot to erase old SMS messages etc so I unplugged the TCU from my Z4M and swooped in the ULF to wipe everything, it worked but the sound quality was awful (really, really quiet and retorted) so it's definitely not a straight swap.

Think you are right - Bimmernav (USA) say it is a straight swap - but I now searching the web seriously don't think so - different harness, plugs, aeriel modules etc. etc. - they seem to flog good kits out for pre-wired cars but are pretty clueless re. upgrades
