				Hi Guys and Girls,
Just thought I would say hello to freinds old and new

and a big thank you to AW8, PVR and sp3ctre for setting up this new site, I'm sure you guys have been very busy over the last month or so and you efforts are much appreciated

The only problem I have is that the 'X' is gone (but never forgoten) and so feel a bit of an outcast!!!
Hope you are all well and look forward to the developement of this new site and getting back to some banter with the usual suspects

It's great thanks, just done a 800 mile round trip to central France averaged 46.7 MPG and used just over a tank of fuel, great engine and would struggle to justify any bigger if I'm honest.

Hi Sanj, good to hear from you and yep loving the car mate and very impressed with the 20d engine. Yes I miss the 'X' of course but after doing the trip to France the 5er is a much nicer long distance car, bigger boot too.

Hi 5hep, x555 and AW8 gald we are all back in one place at last, happy days

@ Pewters - the 20d 177bhp motor works very well in the 5er mate, this engine came in the range along with some ED workings at the end of 2007. I'll be very honest, I really did not want to give up the 'X' but with my son starting school in Sept, rear tyres, MOT and Insp I all required on the 'X' + the PX and discout on the Touring it was a deal that could not be over looked. As for performance the 20d in my mind and head would be the last model to look at, having had 2 30d in a vert and e91 Touring + the 'X' a 525d would have been the min but the pricing for 6 cylinder diesels 4-5k more than a 20d just seemed crazy and not worth it. So went for the 20d (without driving it) and have to say it is fantastic, as stated before have just come back from doing 800 miles in France overe this time got an indicated 46.7mpg best showing was 48.7mpg before we had to get a march to the ferry

was very happy sitting at 85ish

on the motorway and the boot is bigger than the 'X' so more space for beer

Probably more info than you wanted

but IMO you don't need a bigger engine, this is the best car I have owned and there have been many. If I do need a bit more go, to be honest if is more than good enough as it is, then a chat with Jason will have it putting out more power than a 525d for a few hundred quid. Job done.
