Has anyone seen or used the bulbs yet?
They are alleged to be up to 70% brighter than standard D1 bulbs (fitted to E70/71 Xenon equipped cars) and better 200K and 700K hotter colour temp wise depending upon version. The brightness is 'perceptive' to the human eye, not in actual intensity.
The standard HIDs in my E71 are not all that great and I just wondered if replacing the bulb itself with a 'bluer' unit which also has a higher Lumen count (3200 instead of the standard 2800) but which does not require changed control gear might be an option? Especially with the car having an extended BMW Insured warranty in place meaning I don't want to play with all the wiring.
For those wondering, the D1S bulb has a built in igniter on the base instead of one located in the ballast.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
