New Tyres Hankook Ventus

Post by ajwk » Tue Nov 05, 2013 5:53 pm

Just bought a pair of new Tyres for the rear. The are Hankook Ventus S1 Fuel eff C wet grip B exterior noise 74 Decibels. price £407 the pair fitted from blackcircles.com

The old Michelins I had on before were at the limit so not much of a comparison but the ride seems better and they seem slightly quieter. Hopefully I never have to try out their full stopping prowess in the wet. Lets see how they wear

Hi,

I normally tell people , spend money on the best tyres you can afford as it is those 4 little bits of rubber that keep your car on the road.
That said , the tyres on any X5 are so wide that I think it makes little difference.
I hated the michelins myself............went Yokahama V802 which were brilliant.
The original michelin diamaris is old technology, the world has moved on and with michelin you are paying for the " name "............which i think is not worth it and im sure plenty on here will dissagree but hey ho.......its your money, your choice.
I am also sure plenty will say there will be a difference in wet weather performance, all i would say is not that the likes of us would notice.
Hankook Ventus is a good tyre IMHO..............and the fact its a more modern design should be a big improvement in materials and ride.

Regards,

Nat.

i would say buy the cheapest ones possible to buy, the x5 has 4wd anyway and 90% of people never push cars that much anyway, i give my cars a good thrashing with the cheapest tyres i can find and never had a problem
