Hi guys
Anybody know which of the pads offers by ECP are the same as the OEM spec BMW items? Are the Pagid pads any good? Has anybody recently had prices for the BMW pads?
Also looking at what I can find regarding the differences between an Oil service and an Inspection 1 (on the 3.0D) it looks like the Insp 1 just has a few additional checks. The car is not far from needing a service and I thinking of oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, general top up of fluids and brake fluid change.
Is there anything else you guys can think of that could be advisable?
Cheers
Max

I think Pagid are the same as OEM. Textar are also used by BMW.
You might want to add the pollen filter too. It's and easy job with the filter being behind the air covers below the screen.
Other than that a good look underneath for CVJ covers, leaks, suspension bushes, anything loose etc. The oil service is just that, oil and filter. Insp 1 is a general look. Over the car to make sure everything is in place. Brake fluid is changed every two years (orange clock symbol). Doing more than the minimum is never going to be a bad thing.

I'd personally go with the likes of Textar for OE fitment and quality. I've started to hear a few things regarding Pagid and am more inclined to not go with them anymore.
As Richard has said just make sure it gets a good look round at everything and change all the filters, etc in one go.

Thanks for the info guys - will have a look at the pads once the wheels are off.
Re the servicing I'm getting varying prices for oil, oil filter, pollen filter, fuel filter and air filter. I'll probably get the oil breather done whilst its opened up, with an all round check up.
I'll report back once I decide who I'm going to use!
